A bit about Ronin3

The Japanese word ronin literally means "wave man" - as one who is tossed about, as on the waves in
the sea.

When I was formulating the ideas around my masters' thesis
Metacenter , the concept of existing on
a constantly moving plane resonated with me. The idea that we are bound into an unstable existence
rather that good old solid terra firma, seemed to reflect the truer nature we find ourselves in.

In a constantly changing universe the idea that we do not move seems unrealistic. That we do not
move seems as outdated as believing the galaxy rotates around the Earth. Our bodies down to the
very cell are in a state of constant regeneration - change. The thought that we are a constant now
appears laughable and pompous.

Out of this, I happened upon the nautical term
metacenter, which is defined as:

The intersection point of a vertical line drawn through the line of buoyancy of a slightly
listed vessel which intersects the centerline plane.

             Or more simply:

Although the exhibition and thesis are in the past, the recognition of this state has stayed with me.

Perhaps it is our beliefs and ideas that keep us upright and balanced on the precarious waves.
